Extensive growth leads to the security and business continuity vendor recruiting Cohort Technology

Written by Doug Woodburn

Security and business continuity vendor Stonesoft has taken on a second UK distributor in response to “phenomenal growth”.

Cohort Technology will carry Stonesoft’s full portfolio of products alongside e92plus, which has held an exclusive arrangement with Stonesoft for three years.

Ashish Patel, UK and Ireland country manager at Stonesoft, said: “In the past 18 months we have experienced triple-digit growth. It had reached a point where we needed to spread our wings further and take on a distributor that could offer services such as 24-7 support.”

Patel said the vendor would benefit from Cohort’s presence in markets such as voice and virtualisation.
Grahame Smee, managing director of Cohort, said the distributor’s priority was to provide improved technical services to its existing partners and kick off lead-generation activities.

“We are also looking to add Stonesoft’s offerings to our managed security portfolio as a managed firewall,” added Smee.
