As a Mac user, removing software isn’t always so straightforward. In some circumstances, you can simply drag the app icon to your Trash and nothing more is required. However, software from the heavyweights such as Adobe run advanced installers that put files and information in various locations on your system.
One solution is to download the software again and you’ll often find that the original installer also shipped with an uninstall tool that enables you to remove the software. This isn’t always a practical solution and the original version may not be available from the developer’s website.
AppZapper is a simple tool that enables you to drag application icons to an icon and, once dropped on the icon, AppZapper will remove the original file and other references on your system. It’s as simple as that. Indeed, once you use AppZapper, you do wonder why Apple didn’t release something similar in OS X.
AppZapper is shareware, so you can only uninstall 5 applications before you need to purchase the software.
