When we’re abroad we take a lot of photos. Many similar photos which we then look through on our computer and delete the similarities. However, wouldn’t it be good if you could make use of these similar photos and turn them in to a scrollable landscape?
Microsoft Photosynth is a new online tool that enables you to import similar photos and the technology will examine the photos for similarities and then join them together based on points within the photos.
The photos do not have to be taken by the same person or camera. Indeed, they can have been taken over a period of time. The software simply looks for the similarities between the photos and then will output a scrollable image that is a combination of the photos.
This process is done offline and online (you need to view your photos online) and you’ll need to open an account to process your photos. You can upload and view online, although you’ll need a viewer to see your photos.
