The BBC has added video podcasts to its range of online offerings.
The 12-month trial of downloadable video reports features content from the Ten O'Clock News and Newsnight.
Ten Weekly, a roundup of stories from the BBC Ten O'clock News, is updated every Wednesday.
The Newsnight podcast provides highlights from the BBC's nightly news and current affairs broadcast, while STORYFix promises a high speed view of the week's news. Both will be updated on Fridays.
"This trial aims to give people a range of great BBC News content that they can enjoy watching in a completely different way on new portable devices," said Adrian Van Klaveren, deputy director of BBC News.
Later in the year the BBC will also add a daily bulletin aimed at commuters, and a summary of the week's Question Time.
The video reports are encoded in MPEG-4 format, making them compatible with Apple's video iPod.
The BBC recently announced sweeping structural changes and an extra £150m investment in a bid to lead the digital media revolution.
The BBC video podcasts can be downloaded from the corporation's website.
