Creative took the wraps off its latest Zen media player at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin last week.

The credit card-sized Creative Zen can play back music, video and photos on its 2.5in 320 x 240 resolution screen, and sports 4GB, 8GB or 16GB storage and an SD memory slot for expanded data capacity.

It is the first Creative player to support music in AAC format, and is compatible with iTunes, supporting unprotected iTunes Plus tracks in addition to MP3 and WMA.

The Creative Zen supports all the most common video formats, including Mpeg4, DivX, XviD and WMV.

The player uses a built-in rechargeable battery which provides up to five hours of video playback or up to 25 hours for music, and includes a built-in FM radio and microphone.

The Creative Zen will be available throughout most of Europe in September and should retail at €160, €200 and €300 for the 4GB, 8GB and 16GB versions.
