Sybase has unveiled a new appliance for its
IQ
Analytics Server, which it claims will let users analyse business data in
real time.
The firm said that its Sybase IQ Real-Time Loading Solution continuously
loads real-time data into the Sybase IQ Analytics server to ease the process of
ad-hoc analysis.
"This solution is intended to take organisations beyond intermittent batch
loading to continuous loading of operational database changes," said Sybase's
intelligent enterprise solutions director Dan Lahl.
"With the Sybase IQ Real-Time Loading Solution, customers can make better
informed business decisions at any time based on the freshest information."
The appliance was built using IBM Power Systems technology and
Microstrategy's business intelligence systems.
Sybase claims that the appliance simplifies the complexity of data
warehousing while delivering up to 100 per cent faster performance.
Sybase IQ Real-Time Loading Solution is available in three models, each
configured to a different workload and data capacity. Series 100 scales up to 80
concurrent users and 12TB of user data capacity, Series 200 can handle hundreds
of users and up to 48TB of user data capacity, while Series 300 can handle
thousands of users and up to a petabyte of user data capacity.
